All the props in the world to my older brother Brad for running in the Brrrrrmidji Polar 5K race in Bemidji this morning. Currently, the weather in Bemidji is -21 with a windchill of -34! That is not the weather I would like to be running in (oh wait, I wouldn't WANT to be running in any weather!)

I put on an extra layer of under armour and my wool running socks only to get to find out when I went to register that the 5K had been called off due to the cold weather. How can you call off the Brrrrrrmidji Polar Challenge 5K due to cold temperatures? I think there should be some kind of heat restriction on the race! Ane when I say heat I mean nothing above 10 degrees.
Anyway they made some statement like for the saftey of the runners and volunteers blah, blah...I lucked out this time. I hadn't trained enough. See you in Walker Feb. 16th for the Eelpout Peelout Lil bro. I will be running is a new age bracket for the first time. Maybe since I will be the youngest in the old farts group, I wll beat someone. Lets hope for something warmer than -40 wind chills.
